Stephen R. Warren, 62

AVON, CONN. — Stephen Richard Warren, 62, of Avon, Conn., beloved husband of Patricia “Patrice” (Hugh) Warren, died unexpectedly, Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Portland, son of the late Clifton W. Warren and Beatrice (Frost) Verry of Glens Falls, N.Y., he was raised in the North Conway, N.H. area. He attended Plymouth College (N.H.) and later received his bachelor of arts degree in Finance from CCSU.

He had been employed by Heublein, Inc., Computer Sciences Corporation and currently by Murphy Security Services at the state office buildings in Hartford, Conn. Steve loved to play with his dogs, listen to music of all genres, and travel. He was a member of the CT Society of Genealogists and had employed extensive searches to prepare masterful family histories for relatives and friends. He was an avid reader and kept abreast of local, state, national and world news. Steve was a dedicated “weekend warrior,” doing projects around the house from remodeling to redecorating. He was a member of the West Avon Congregational Church. Steve had a scholarly personality. He was kind, caring and quick-witted. He will be missed by all who have known and loved him.

Besides his wife of 28 years, Patrice; he leaves two stepchildren, Brian J. Smith and Tiffany H. Blanchette of Avon; two grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Whiting of Glens Falls, N.Y.; three brothers, Bruce Warren in Virginia, Clifton I. Warren of Washington, and Matthew Warren of Maine; his stepmother, Madeline Warren of Brownfield; five nieces; two nephews; and two stepsisters, Rita Doucette of Maine and Misty Lybarger of Florida.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at the West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road, Avon.
