Shirley K. Clement, 86

Shirley Ann Kneeland Clement died Jan. 21 in Hampton, Virginia, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Portland on March 13, 1926, and graduated from Deering High School in 1944. She also lived in Brewer, Maine; Manchester, Merrimack and Laconia, N.H.; New Port Richey, Fla., and Chesapeake and Hampton, Va.

She was known for her devotion to her family and her love for and faith in Jesus. She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Fred W. Clement of Hampton, Va. She is also survived by her three children: Roger Clement of Naples, Cheryl Demos of Cape Charles, Va., and Kathryn Wainwright of Corona, Calif. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Shirley loved to be with her family and will be remembered for her love of board games and card games. She was well-known for her love and compassion for people, and she had a gift for bringing joy to everyone she came in contact with. She loved golfing, boating and gardening and was very active in Bible Studies and church activities.

Burial will be at the Forest Hills Annex Cemetery in Bridgton on Monday, Jan. 28 at 1:00 p.m. A reception and time of remembrance will follow at the Cornerstone Church in Naples from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m..
