Shirley J. Moreau

FALMOUTH — Shirley J. Moreau, 63, passed away on Aug. 14, 2011, at Sedgewood Commons Nursing Home in Falmouth, after a long battle with Parkinson’s and dementia.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1948, in Portland, the daughter of the late Henry A. and Madeline M. Ward Brown.

Shirley had a great love for life, whether taking trips on a motorcycle or traveling by car. Playing beano at Foxwoods was a favorite pasttime; she also proved to be very lucky at the slot machines.

She had a gift when working with ceramics; her Christmas display, complete with kings, shepherds and animals, was admired every year for its beauty and detail.

A proud moment in her life was receiving her G.E.D. from Westbrook High School Adult Education.

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Gerard P. Moreau; a son, Robert Grover of Windham; two sisters, Nancy Blaisdell of Westbrook and Jean Brown of South Portland; two grandsons; a stepdaughter, Dianna Cook of Denmark; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by an infant daughter, Karen Lombard.

A visiting hour will be held on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Blais and Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church Street, Westbrook, followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. Following the service, there will be a luncheon at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Brown Street, Westbrook.
