GORHAM – Sheri “Storm’n Norman” Lynn Alger, 52, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, after a courageous battle against cancer.

She was born on April 21, 1964, in Bridgton, the daughter of Larry and Dea Dea (Norman) Robbins. After graduating from Lake Region High School in 1982 she attended Andover College for Business Administration. She was a hard worker, doing whatever she could to provide for her family. She was devoted to her grandchildren. She loved to go to Beech Ridge as a spectator and even raced one season in the Ladies League of Thursday Thunder. She was an avid outdoor enthusiast that enjoyed camping and snowmobiling. She loved the beach, particularly Old Orchard and in Jamaica. Her life was also enriched with her four-legged friends Coco and Kitty Kitty.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Skyler Locke and Colby Palmer of Gorham; her son Joshua Palmer of Gorham and his father Michael Palmer of North Waterboro; her world-touring partner Joe Alger of Gorham; her brothers Larry Robbins Jr. of Richmond, Va. and Keith Robbins of Cumberland; her sister Kelley Martin of Scarborough; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dearest friend, Wendy Staples of North Waterboro, and her special friend and neighbor, Bob Doherty of Gorham.

Sheri always loved a good party so there will be a celebration of life on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 1 to 5 p.m., at the American Legion, Route 25 in Westbrook. Private burial will be on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at the Crooked River Cemetery in Naples.
