Sharon L. Collins

WESTBROOK — Sharon L. Collins, 71, of Westbrook died on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born in Windham on March 1, 1939, the daughter of the late Burton and Mildred (Nelson) Corkum.

Mrs. Collins worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Seaside Nursing Home in Portland for over 20 years, retiring in 1997.

She enjoyed going to camp in Casco on Parker Pond where she was able to be with family and friends. She liked to knit, read, travel and especially bird watching. Mrs. Collins was a loving mother and grandmother.

Family members include her sons, Burton Collins of Raymond, Scott Collins, Christopher Collins and Benjamin Collins, all of Westbrook; two daughters, Heidi Lynn Krannig of Peyton, Colo. and Rebecca Buck of Westbrook; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Burton Corkum of Weaverville, N.C. and Michael Earl Corkum of Cypress Springs, Fla.; a sister, Justina Eraso of Orlando, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a son, William Robert Collins Jr. in 1981; and by a sister, Colleen Dorsey.
