Sebago crash victim airlifted

NORTH SEBAGO — A woman had to be airlifted to a hospital in Lewiston, after the sport utility vehicle she was driving left Route 114 went down an embankment and rolled into Nason Brook on Tuesday.

The unidentified woman was ejected from the SUV, according to a dispatcher in Standish.

A couple helped the woman, with one holding the woman's head above the water, as the other called 9-1-1.

A tow truck was summoned to the crash site, as the woman's legs were reportedly pinned under the vehicle. LifeFlight of Maine landed on Nason's Beach and then transported the woman, whose condition was not available, to Central Maine Medical Center.

Route 114 was closed to traffic for more than two hours. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the cause of the April 24 crash.
