RAYMOND — Samuel Mark Dixon, 65, of Raymond, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2017, at River Ridge Center in Kennebunk, with his loving family by his side.

Mark was born and raised in Elkton, Md., the son of Samuel and Rosemary (McCray) Dixon. He received his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State, and his master’s degree from West Virginia. His career in science was spent in research and biotech companies.

Mark’s sense of humor was enjoyed by his family and many friends. He had a very outgoing personality and a wonderful smile. He loved classic cars and music, especially jazz.

Mark’s greatest joy in life was his two sons, who gave him a great sense of pride. He also loved dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda McMackin; sons, Nate and Ian Dixon, both of Raymond; a sister, Sharon Robinson of Forest Hill, Md.; nieces and nephews; 12 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church Street, Westbrook. A memorial service will take place Saturday at noon at the Westbrook Warren Congregational Church. Online condolences may be expressed at: blaisandhayfuneralhome.com
