SAD 61 football survey

A survey has been posted at www.lakeregionschools.org or www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22E9TUXNGT seeking public comment regarding whether Lake Region should petition the Maine Principals’ Association to move the football program to Class C this fall.

Responses should be submitted within the next couple of weeks.

The Survey

The following was prepared by Superintendent Kathy Beecher and Athletic Director Paul True:

Welcome LR football players, parents and supporters.

This survey is to help make an important decision regarding the direction of our football program for this coming season. With the reality that numbers are low and there is a concern for safety of our players, we are exploring all of our options.

One option that is time-sensitive is the possibility of petitioning the Maine Principal’s Association to go down a “Class” to participate in a Class C schedule. This would mean we would not be eligible for a play-off appearance, no matter how we did in the regular season. This one particular scenario is a year at a time commitment. We thank you for taking the time to answer a few brief questions, and we hope you are in support of doing what is best for our student/athletes.

• I am a (please choose one) parent of a football player, community member, student football player.
