Russell S. Pitts

Russell S. Pitts, 73, of Bridgton and formerly of Hebron, Conn., died Sept. 5, 2010 in Norway. 

He was born in Bridgton on June 28, 1937, the son of Samuel L. and Frances (Witter) Pitts Sr., and was educated in local schools. Russell had been employed at Pratt Whitney for over 30 years before retiring back to Bridgton. He loved fishing and built and flew radio controlled model airplanes as well as being a Ham Radio operator, with an extra class license, with the call sign of "W1CFZ."

Russell is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna (Dodge) Pitts of Bridgton; two sons Joseph Pitts of Urbandale, Iowa and Charles Pitts of Tolland, Conn.; a daughter Karen Pitts of Portland; a brother Samuel Pitts Jr. of Harrison; and four grandchildren. 

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Virginia Pitts.

Private services will be held for the family.
