Russell Brown

CASCO — Russell James Brown, 35, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his father’s home in Casco.

Russell James was born on April 26, 1979 at Maine Medical Center in Portland to Bernadette and William (Russ) Brown. Russell attended Portland schools, loved sports, cars, his friends and family. He enjoyed annual family trips to Rangeley Lake during February vacation and telling jokes, making people laugh and playing cribbage with his father. After school, Russell worked for the City of Portland, Maine Turnpike Authority and later began his own landscaping business. He loved being outdoors snowmobiling with his dad and following NASCAR racing. Perhaps Russell’s greatest achievement was when he became the father of a beautiful baby girl, Alexis Brown, on Oct. 17, 2000.

Russell remained very close to his family throughout his life. His special bond with his mom gave him strength throughout the hard times he encountered in his life. He lovingly called her “Tootsie” and was her heart. He was taken from us much too soon. He will remain in all our hearts until we meet again.

Russell is survived by his daughter, Alexis Brown; his mother, Bernadette Brown of North Carolina; his father, Russ Brown and his wife Heidi Brown of Casco; stepsister Kayla Goodine of Naples; and extended family.
