Roy A. Ducharme

SOUTH PORTLAND — Roy Arthur Ducharme, 59, of South Portland, died peacefully on Aug. 13, 2012, at Maine Medical Center.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1952, in Portland, the son of Romeo Ducharme and Virginia Messer Ducharme Higgins. Roy was a 1971 graduate of Stearns High School in Millinocket. He attended tech school in Presque Isle.

He worked at the Sheridan Inn by the Mall, now the DoubleTree Inn, for 40-plus years. He found an autographed room service receipt after Elvis stayed there. Roy was a music lover and was fond of the Beatles and Elvis. He was a collector of music items.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Surviving are three brothers, David C. Ducharme of Sebago, William Ducharme of Hancock and Bruce Campbell of Portland; and many nieces and nephews.
