Route 35 work delayed to Monday

HARRISON — Due to unstable weather conditions, the culvert replacement project on Route 35 Harrison will be delayed until Monday, Aug. 18, the Maine Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.

The location of the culvert replacement project is on Route 35 in Harrison, approximately 100 feet south of Zakelo Road.

Route 35 southbound will be fully closed at this location. For northbound motorists, roadwork barricades with flaggers will be stopping traffic on Route 35 at the northern entrance to Cape Monday Road. Local traffic only will be permitted.

The approximately 13-mile detour route is as follows:

• Northbound motorists: The detour will begin at the junction of Route 35 and Route 302/11 in Naples. Traffic will be directed northerly around the western side of Long Lake using Route 302 from the Naples Causeway area into Bridgton then directed to Route 117 north back into Harrison at the top of Long Lake to Route 35.

• Southbound motorists: The detour will begin at the junction of Route 35 and Route 117 in Harrison. Motorists will be directed to Route 117 southerly around the west side of Long Lake into Bridgton onto Route 302 easterly back into Naples, past the Causeway area to the junction of Route 35.

MDOT officials anticipate all work will be completed by the end of the day on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
