Senior Sabrina Lopez of Bridgton has been selected as the Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club’s “Citizen of the Month” for February.

Each month, the Rotary Club recognizes a Lake Region High School student who displays good citizenship and contributes to the school community. The recipient is honored at a Rotary breakfast meeting and is presented a monetary gift.

Activities: Volleyball, Softball, CNA program, Newspaper Club, ASTRA, Project Planet, METS, and National Honor Society.

Community activities: Volunteering at National Honor Society, doing clinical hours locally, and working at Bridgton Rec.

Hobbies: Arts and crafts, reading books, long boarding, thrifting, buying excessive amounts of plants, and snowboarding!

Future Plans: Nursing school!

What do you consider as traits that make someone a good citizen? I like to make people happy and be helpful. 

Who has inspired you to be a good citizen? My mom is by biggest inspiration because she taught me to always be kind and treat others the way you want to be treated.

What have you done to make the school community a better place? I am an active member in many clubs and I always make sure people are happy. 

Why is volunteerism important? Volunteerism is very important because it prepares people to become better people by giving back to something bigger than themselves.

In the future, what do you see yourself doing to make the world a better place? I want to be a travel nurse and help many people.
