Rotary Good Citizen: Jacqueline Laurent

SC 17 jackie laurentJacqueline Laurent of Bridgton has been selected as the Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club’s “Citizen of the Month” for May.

Each month, the Rotary Club recognizes a Lake Region High School student who displays good citizenship and contributes to the school community. The recipient is honored at a Rotary breakfast meeting and is presented a gift card.

Future plans: Attending Plymouth State University for secondary education in mathematics.

What is your favorite class? My favorite class is English because it’s based on yourself and the teacher gets to know you as a person.

What is your toughest class? My toughest class is physics because it’s really difficult to understand.

How do you balance your class work and your extracurricular activities? I get all my class work done during study halls or after practices and games.

What is the biggest challenge high school students face today? I think the biggest challenge high schools students face today is balancing schoolwork and extracurricular activities.

Who has inspired you educationally? My parents because they know what I’m capable of and they push me to be the best I can be.
