Destinee Durant

Destinee Durant of Naples has been selected as the Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club’s “Citizen of the Month” for January.

Each month, the Rotary Club recognizes a Lake Region High School student who displays good citizenship and contributes to the school community. The recipient is honored at a Rotary breakfast meeting and is presented a savings bond.

Activities: Field Hockey, Indoor Track, Softball

Hobbies: Sports

Future plans: To go to college for Early Childhood Education.

What is your favorite class? English, because you create your own curriculum and the teacher tries to get to know you as a person not just a student.

What is your toughest class? Physics, because it’s complicated and hard to understand.

How do you balance your class work and your extracurricular activities? I usually try to do all of my class work during my study halls, and after practice and games.

What is the biggest challenge high school students face today? I believe the biggest challenge that is being faced today is balancing schoolwork, social lives and extracurricular activities.

Who has inspired you educationally? My family because they know my potential and when I’m not giving it my all they push me to do better.
