Danielle LaPointe

Danielle LaPointe of Sebago has been selected as the Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club’s “Citizen of the Month” for March.

Each month, the Rotary Club recognizes a Lake Region High School student who displays good citizenship and contributes to the school community. The recipient is honored at a Rotary breakfast meeting and is presented a savings bond.

Activities: Volleyball, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field, National Honor Society

Community activities: I have done various community service projects with the National Honor Society such as sending care packages to the 133rd stationed in Afghanistan, Bridgton Halloween party, and sending holiday cards to soldiers overseas.

Hobbies: Hanging with friends, shopping, hiking with my family.

Future plans: Attending the University of Maine, majoring in nursing.

What is your favorite class? My favorite class is senior math because it is easy to understand thanks to a great teacher.

What is your toughest class? My toughest class is physics because it’s difficult to understand.

How do you balance your class work and your extracurricular activities? I balance my class work and my extracurricular activities by making priorities and always giving myself time to do school work.

What is the biggest challenge high school students’ face today? I believe the biggest challenge high school students’ face today is making time out of our busy schedules to study and do homework.

Who has inspired you educationally? My parents have inspired me educationally because they have always told me to work through the stressful times and study often because it will pay off in the end.
