FALMOUTH — Rosemary Lillian Foster, 96, originally from Bridgton, died on Saturday, July 19, 2014.

She has lived with her daughter and family in Falmouth for 22 years, following the death of her husband in 1992.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1917, the daughter of John E. and Flora Kneeland Flint. She graduated from Bridgton High School and Bliss Business School. For almost 50 years, she was married to Theodore H. Foster, also originally from Bridgton. She lived in Maine and New Jersey, where her husband taught and coached high school athletics. They had two children, Rae Pierce, who lives in Falmouth, and John Foster, who resides in Limerick. She has nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a niece.

Lil loved to write letters, tell stories, knit, play cards, swim, visit Bridgton, take walks, eat ice cream, eat out and visit with friends and family. Lil has been cared for in the comfort of home with the help of Mercy Hospital VNA and VNA hospice for the past four years.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. at Elm Vale Cemetery, Sweden Road in Waterford with a celebration of life following at Tom’s Homestead Restaurant on North High Street in Bridgton.
