LEWISTON — Roscoe “Ross” Goodwin, 88, of Naples, formerly of Dexter, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 8, 2022 at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born on April 5, 1933, in Westbrook and attended local schools there before enlisting in the U.S. Army.

Ross worked as a commercial driver his entire life. He worked for S.D. Warren for 19 years, Merrill Transport in Portland for 20 years and then on to drive the Island Explorer Bus at Acadia National Park for 15 years. During his retirement, he volunteered for Lynx Transportation.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed living on Sebec Lake in Dover for many years.

Ross is survived by a daughter, Valerie Bennett of Casco; two sons, Alan and his wife Lyn of Naples, and Brian of Pelion, S.C.; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents, Roscoe Goodwin Sr. and Helen Merrill; a brother George and his wives, Beryle and Nancy.

Private interment will be at Forest City Cemetery in South Portland.
