Ronald A. Nadeau

LEWISTON — Ronald A. Nadeau, 68, of Casco, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at Central Maine Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born in Lewiston on Oct. 25, 1942, the son of the late Albert and Marie-Ange Roy Nadeau, he graduated from Lewiston High School in 1961.

Ron was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard between 1964 and 1968.

He established his business, Nadeau Refrigeration, in 1978, which he served as president, with his son as vice president. He also owned and operated the Dairy Joys in Lewiston and Auburn with his daughter.

He coached hockey at Lewiston High School in 1987-1988, and refereed locally for many years.

Ron enjoyed NASCAR racing, snowmobiling, fishing, hockey and vacationing with his wife.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ron will be remembered as a hard-working man who loved his community and his family very much. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his wife, the former Linda J. Soule, of Casco, whom he married on Oct. 31, 1964; his daughter, Lisa Keene of Poland; his son, Tom of Auburn; and his four grandchildren; his sisters, Connie Kirk of Waterville, Lee Hammond, Beth Ayotte and Adrienne Ray.

Visitation was Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Church. Committal followed at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
