CASCO — Roland S. Carter, III, 63, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at his home.

He was born to the late Roland S. II and Rhoda (Freethy) Carter in Holbrook, Mass., on Oct. 20, 1950.

He was married to the late Margaret J. Carter. They both lived in Holbrook, Mass. before retiring to Casco in later years. Known as “Buster” by friends and family, he worked at Quincy Shipyard and as a Mason.

Buster is survived by two siblings, Catherine and Alan Carter (and the late Sanderson, Bill and Rhoda Hazel); four children, Deborah Gilpatrick, William Carter, Wendy Brown, Chuck Carter; two stepchildren, Danielle Clements and Melissa Munoz; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will he held on Saturday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
