Roland Blake

WINDHAM — Roland B. Blake, 86, of Windham, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017, in Portland.

The son of Perley and Clara (Tracey) Blake, he was born in Portland on Aug. 21, 1930. He attended Gorham schools until the age of 13, when he started driving truck. He married Mary Lane, of Gorham, in 1949. They settled for a time in Gorham, but then moved to Windham to raise their six children.

He was an honorary member of the South Windham Fire Department. A truck driver for 39 years, he was a member of the Teamsters Local 340.

He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Mary Blake in 2010. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Rolene Frost; his son, Danny Blake; and his daughter, Peggy Bisco.

He is survived by his sons, Terrance Blake of Limington, Steven Blake and Susan of Limington, and Scott Blake of Raymond. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

There will be no services. He will be interred next to his wife at Chase Cemetery in Windham. Arrangements are under the care of Dolby Funeral Chapel, Windham.
