PORTLAND — Roger A. Guillette, 82, of Portland died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Barre, Vt., on Feb. 25, 1932, the son of Albert and Ola Deslippe Guillette. Roger graduated from Spaulding High School in 1950, and served five years in the U.S. Air Force before marrying Angela Gadgcome on April 25, 1959, in Plattsburg, N.Y., In 1962, Roger graduated from the University of Vermont.

Roger worked many years in retail for Robert Hall in N.Y., and Anderson Little and J.C. Penney’s in South Portland. He also volunteered for the Salvation Army in Portland. Roger was a genuine, inquisitive man and always sought the best in whom he came in contact with. A lifelong learner, he had varied interests, among them politics, traveling, and Bible studies; but above all his family.

Roger is survived by his wife, Angela of 55 years; his four daughters, Kathleen G. Guillette of Portland, Linda G. McLean of Raymond, Michelle G. Grant of Bridgton and Cynthia G. Gaudin of Raymond; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
