Robert S. Marston, 77

KENNEBUNK — Robert S. Marston, 77, of Kennebunk and formerly of Kittery, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Huntington Common in Kennebunk, where he had resided for the past few years.

He was born in Rumford on Jan. 12, 1936, the son of James and Elsie (Hardin) Marston and attended local schools. He proudly served in the U.S. Army serving in Europe as a young man. He received a mechanical engineering degree from Tri-State College in Gary, Ind.

Bob worked for the Coppers Ship Building Co. in Portland and later at the Kezar Falls Woolen Mill. He then worked for nearly 40 years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery.

He loved to be outdoors in his spare time. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fishing on Moose Pond in Bridgton.

He was predeceased by his father, James M. Marston; his mother, Elsie Page; and his stepfather, Walter Page.

Surviving are his brother, Richard Marston of Hiram; and his nephew.

An hour of visitation will be on Sunday, March 16, from 1 to 2 p.m., immediately followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., at the Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple Street, Cornish. Burial will be in West Baldwin in the spring.
