SOUTH PARIS — Robert Richard Eaton (Bob), 70, of South Paris, passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, due to unexpected complications of heart attack and stroke.
Bob was born in Quincy, Mass., on Oct. 6, 1944, to Neil Keenan Eaton Sr. and Sadie Aurelia Eaton (nee Shoals). He was their youngest child and brother of Neil Jr., Pitt, Faith Davenport, James, Sally Ferguson, and Jack.
Bob grew up in Weymouth, Mass., and graduated from Weymouth High School, where he played football in 1963. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1967–1970.
He was married to Teresa Lea Moulton on Jan. 2, 1974, and they were together for 24 years. They had moved to Maine together in 1974, where they raised two children, Matthew Robert and Daniel Richard.
Bob worked as a truck driver, carpenter, salesman, and caretaker of his brother James.
He was a big fan of New England sports and loved to watch the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. He enjoyed reading, stamp collecting, military movies, sci-fi movies and fishing. He donated to various charities. He was also an avid fan of Dunkin’ Donuts.
Bob is survived by his children, Matthew (and Kristy) and his future granddaughter; Daniel (and Laura) and his grandson Shane; his sister Sally (and Stuart); his brother Jack (and Gerda); a dear friend Lyn Baker; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nephews and nieces; his “adopted” dog Dutch; and many friends.
A private family service will be held at Cedar Crest Cemetery in Otisfield, at a later date, to be officiated by Bob’s nephew, Neil.
Bob had the kindest heart and was always taking care of everyone around him.
