CASCO — Robert O. “Bobo” Michaud, 89, formerly of Gorham, died Friday Oct. 25, 2013, at Country Village in Casco.

He was born in Westbrook, the son of Louis and Aurore Turgeon Michaud.

He was raised and educated in Westbrook. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the Yorktown. Bobo was a left-handed pitcher in baseball, he played class D ball in North Carolina for the Alber Marle Rockets, a farm team for the Washington Senators, he later played in St. George, Canada, and then for the Portland Pilots. He had been employed by the S.D. Warren Co. for over 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion and the Westbrook Eagles. He was a devout Yankees fan, was a longtime member of Gorham Country Club and enjoyed shooting pool and darts.

He was predeceased by sisters, Jeannette Kenney, Ruth Provencal, Lorraine Zahares and Gloria Webb; and a brother, Rudolph Michaud.

He is survived by a daughter, Jeanette York of Windham; a son, Christopher Michaud of Buxton; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Visiting hours were held Monday at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church Street, Westbrook. Funeral Services were held at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial with military honors followed at Arlington Cemetery, Windham. For online condolences go to blaisandhayfuneralhome.com
