Robert E. Westgate

NAPLES — Robert E. Westgate, 72, of Naples and formerly of Sebring, Fla., died June 21, 2011 at his home.

He was born in Portsmouth, N.H. on Oct. 6, 1938, a son of Raymond and Evelyn Westgate. For 25 years, Bob was the chef/manager of the Village Cafe in Portland. He was the owner/operator of Just-A-Diner in Sanford. Bob loved hunting and rooting for the N.Y. Yankees.

He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Marjorie Rand, Gladys Canfield and Evelyn Leriche; brothers, Leslie Westgate and Ralph Westgate.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Gloria; two sons, David Wallace of Arcadia, Fla. and Michael Wallace of Frostproof, Fla.; three sisters, Arlene Forkell of Hutchinson, Kan., Barbara Genthner of Brooksville, Fla. and Betty Foss of Middletown, R.I.; two brothers, Donald Westgate of Spring Hill, Fla. and Kenneth Genthner of Philadelphia, Pa.; four granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held on Tuesday followed by a brief memorial service at Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road, Casco. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhomeinc.com
