CASCO — Robert Brian Nute, 56, of Casco, died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at a local hospital after a brief illness.

He was the son of the late SGM Everett I. (Bud) Nute and Evelyn (Williams) Nute of Casco.

Robert was the oldest of three boys. He is survived by his mother; brothers, Richard W. Nute and his wife Kim, of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Roger G. Nute and his wife Debbie, of Casco. His is also survived by his son, Chris Nute of Casco; and his daughter, Carrie Welch of Westbrook. He was a grandfather of five, Valiree Nute of Casco, Shannon and Samuel Ranger of Westbrook, Shane and Shelby Welch of Westbrook. He is also survived by his two best friends, Jodi and Mary.

Bob was a truck driver for a seafood company in Portland before suffering a stroke in 2005. He was an avid skier and loved motorcycling and deep sea fishing.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at the Lakeside Cemetery on Route 121 in Casco Village. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Casco Village Church. Everyone is welcome to join the family. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home, Casco.
