DENMARK — Richard Thomas, 81, of Denmark, died on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at a Florida hospital after a brief illness.

Richard was born in Newton, Mass. in 1934. He attended Portland High School. He was employed by St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. for 30 years. Richard was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending his summers in Denmark and winters in Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Katherine Langella; a sister, Jean Thomas of Portland; a grandson, a great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Maureen, who passed away in 1986.

A private funeral was held.

Funeral services were provided by Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at Brooklawn Cemetery on Saturday, Jan. 16.
