NAPLES — Richard S. Johnson, of Naples, formerly of Holliston, Mass., passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, in Portland.
Richard was born Feb. 16, 1941, in Hartford Conn., the son of Richard and Ethel Donovan Johnson. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving in the 101st Airborne Division.
Richard was the original owner and operator of J & J Commercial Services located in Holliston Mass., which he ran successfully with his wife for 25 years before their retirement to Maine
He was a proud member of Harley Owners Group and his greatest joy was riding winding, open roads with his wife, Nancy. Their travels on their Harley Davidson Dresser, which they lovingly referred to as the Black Swan, took them all over New England and out to Ohio. The Black Swan won countless Best of Show awards and was the centerfold in American Iron Magazine in August 1992.
Richard is survived by Nancy Clapp Johnson, his loving wife of 52 years; his daughter NancyLynn J. Lysik and her husband John of Hollis, N.H.; son Richard F. Johnson of Tampa, Fla., three grandchildren, Jocelyn and Jacob Lysik and Michael Johnson. He was also loved and will be missed by his other two “children,” Heidi Weagle Johnson of Sutton, Mass., and Brian Porter of Iowa.
