Richard Cox, 83

SEBAGO — Richard “Dick” Cox, 83, of Sebago, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Portland on Nov. 7, 1931, the son of the late Ralph and Nellie Cox.

In his adult life he worked many years in the construction field, retiring from P&K Sand and Gravel. Richard was very involved with his town. He worked at the Transfer Station and was a volunteer firefighter, where he served as President and Chief of the department. Richard also was very active with Sebago Days. He and his wife operated a Christmas tree farm in Sebago for many years. Richard’s hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping with his family. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Beverly R. Cox; his children, Wendy M. Cox and John Mains of Naples, Darrell R. Cox and Tracy of Sebago, Jeffrey L. Cox and Cindy of Sebago; four grandchildren; and a brother, James Cox of Cape Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Ralph Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, July 2, at Lakeside Cemetery in North Sebago. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home in Casco. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhomeinc.com
