Richard Martin

Richard “Dick” Charles Martin, 90, passed away on March 29, 2021, at his home.

He was born on August 5, 1930, at the Ear and Eye Infirmary in Portland, Maine to Oscar E. Martin and Anna K. (Ross) Martin of Sanford.

He graduated from Wells High School, class of 1949. He is a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army. He served August 5, 1952 to June 3, 1954, and was honorably discharged. He is also a member of Yorkshire Masonic
Lodge #179 of North Berwick, Kora Temple Shrine in Lewiston, American Legion Post #67 in Bridgton as well as the VFW Post #3359 in Garland, Texas.

He married Beverly Rhoer Griffin on August 30, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, after being transferred to Texas Instruments in Dallas from Clarostat in New Hampshire. He owned and operated Southern Made Donuts in Dallas, Texas, for 20 years before moving back to Maine where he retired as a Lottery Commission Representative with the State of Maine.

He liked to read, go for walks, sit on the porch and talk to neighbors. He loved the latest and greatest tech gadgets.

He is survived by his wife Beverly; sister Andrea; daughter Pamela (Bradford); sons Raymond (Lorna) and Ricky; grand-daughters Katherine (Michael) and Sarah; grandson Timothy; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Steven and Ross; sister Joyce; daughter Sabrina; son Skipper; and other family members.
