Rev. Charles A. Fowlie, 78

LOVELL — The Reverend Charles Albert Fowlie, 78, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at UMMC in Bangor, after a short illness.

He was born in Wakefield, Mass., and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1954. He went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Salem State College, and his Master’s of Divinity degree from Bangor Theological Seminary, Bangor. He was active in ministry for over 40 years, and became Executive Director of the Preachers' Aid Society for the New England United Methodist Conference in 1983. He retired to Lovell in 2001, where he was an active member of the Lovell Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Delta Masonic Lodge of Lovell, where he recently received his 50-year pin of active service in the Masonic Order.

He leaves behind a daughter Janet and Kenneth Laderbush of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter Elisabeth and Charlie Mock of Holden; a son Eric and Allison Fowlie of Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Brianna Pouliot, Nathaniel Laderbush, Laura, Emily and Benjamin Mock, Lola and Sophie Fowlie; and one great-grandchild, Norah Pouliot. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gale Andrea Fowlie.

There will not be any immediate services. A private memorial service will be held in Lovell in July of 2016.
