Reta M. Lander

Reta Nadean Manchester Lander, 95, of Bridgton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at the Bridgton Health Care Center.

She was born in Fryeburg on March 14, 1918, the daughter of John and Nellie Parker Manchester.

She attended schools in East Fryeburg, Fryeburg Academy and the School of Commerce in Portland. She worked many years at the Pleasant Mountain Inn. She was a member of the Guild of the Bridgton Congregational Church. She was an avid skier and also a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and Celtics.

She was predeceased by her parents; husbands Rayburn Riley and Charles Lander;  sister,  Shirley Malone; brother, Norris Manchester; and a sister, Hazel Durfee.

She is survived by a brother, Clifford Manchester, and his wife, Erna, of Ithaca, New York; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Bridgton, 33 South High Street, Bridgton, ME 04009.
