Raymond B. Taggart, 88

NAPLES — Raymond Bruce Taggart, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, while visiting family in California.

A native of Westbrook, he was the son of Leland R. and Edel (Biltoft) Taggart. Bruce graduated from Westbrook High School in 1947. While attending high school he worked many summer jobs. One job was pushing the Lunch Cart at S.D. Warren. He retired from S.D. Warren over 30 years later in a management position. Bruce was proud of his days working in the mill, his time in the Naval Reserve and his Danish decent.

He was married to the late Frances M. Landry for 63 years, and had lived in Naples on Sebago Lake for over 50 years. After his wife's passing he moved to Cape Cod to live with his daughter Maureen.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Daniel Taggart, Lawrence Taggart; and his sister Pricilla Allen. He leaves his daughter, Maureen; grandchildren Travis and Grace; his great-grandson Emerson; his beloved sister Barbra Libby; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m., at the Faith Lutheran Church, 98 Roosevelt Trail, Windham. A luncheon reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the same church at PO Box 1465, Windham, ME 04062.
