Ray A. Johnson Jr.

GRAY — Ray Alton Johnson Jr., 80, of Gray, died on Nov. 26, 2010, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, after a period of declining health.

He was born in Portland on April 26, 1930, the son of Ray Alton and Hazel (Wellman) Johnson. Ray lived and worked in Gray for most of his life. He worked for the State of Maine, Inland Fish and Game Department for 41 years, retiring in 1989. He also enjoyed gardening and had a great appreciation for the outdoors.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Ray and Hazel Johnson; sister, Dorothy Johnson; and brother, James Johnson.

Survivors include three daughters, Debra Keary of Standish, Jacqueline Wing of Yarmouth and Karen Arsenault of Bridgton; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Joan (Douvielle) Johnson of Portland.

At the family’s request, services will be private. Services entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, Gray.
