Raphne Karbosky

Word has been received that Raphne (Hill) Karbosky passed away on Nov. 7, 2010 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

She was born in Bridgton on March 18, 1946, the daughter of Ralph and Rosetta (Steadman) Hill.

At the age of five, she and her family moved from Bridgton to Pawtucket, R.I., but they still spent many happy weekends, vacations and summers at the family cottage at Mackey’s Landing (Long Lake) in Bridgton.

On April 3, 1971, she married Paul Karbosky, and they had two sons, Christopher and Jeffrey. Over the years, she accumulated a large collection of moose. After her family moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., she worked for about 10 years as a head receptionist for a nursing home there. Then, her health declined over five years until her death.

She was predeceased by her father in 2007.

She is survived by her husband, both sons and her mother, all of St. Petersburg, Fla.
