ICE CATS HOCKEY

Head Coach: Dave Lepage, 11 years

Assistant Coach: Mike Payne

Key returning players: seniors Simon Misner of Oxford Hills, forward; Bowen Greenleaf of Fryeburg Academy, forward

Other roster members: sophomore Liam Chisari, FA, defense; sophomore Justin Mushrow, LR, forward; freshmen Graham Payne, LR, goalie; Cam Lepage, LR, defense; Jake Domegan, OH, forward; Wyatt Bryant, OH, forward; Carter LaBossiere, OH, defense

Promising newcomers: There are five solid freshmen coming in this year that have been playing hockey for a while so it will be a big help to the team, Coach Lepage said.

Biggest challenges your squad is facing? Numbers and a JV schedule. The Ice Cats had to move to the JV level this year due to numbers.

Team’s top strengths: Young energy. “There is a new energy about the team and their desire to play the game. They are hungry and ready for anything that comes our way and are committed to making sure Ice Cat hockey is not forgotten in the mix,” Coach Lepage said.

Based on preseason work, what have you seen that you really like? Although the team continues to be from three different schools (Lake Region, Fryeburg Academy and Oxford Hills), “there is a bond that is growing quickly amongst them,” the coach said. “They are having fun together which will help the entire program down the road.”

What will the team need to do to be successful this season? “Stay together and keep loving the sport of hockey,” Coach Lepage said.
