Police seeking alleged kidnapping suspect

Bridgton Police are seeking a male suspect in a kidnapping and aggravated assault that allegedly occurred in the vicinity of Bear Trap Road and Bald PateMountain on South Bridgton Road (Route 107) on Friday.

According to Bridgton Police, Officer Brad Gaumont took a report on Nov. 19 regarding the incident that allegedly involved an unidentified white male that approached a female who was pulled over to the side of the road in a vehicle.

The assailant allegedly brandished a firearm and forced the female to drive him to Bethel, where he released her and was last seen, according to police.

The unidentified male allegedly assaulted the female with the firearm during the incident, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet, nine inches tall, who is approximately 30 to 35 years of age, weighing 160 pounds, with dirty blond hair, a thin build and a pale complexion. He was last seen wearing brown boots, dark washed jeans, a red hooded sweatshirt, tan wool gloves, a black knitted cap and a Carhartt jacket.
