Tyler Walker

Tyler Walker is 7-1 in varsity golf matches this fall, and it has nothing to do with luck.

Lake Region Coach Art Kilborn says Tyler’s success can be attributed to his strong work ethic and his enthusiasm for the game.

Just a sophomore, Tyler currently has a .875 winning percentage in match play as the Laker’s Number 1 player. His average is 40.3 for 16 rounds (9-hole scores).

“At the number-one position, Tyler demonstrates a strong work ethic, always prompt for practice and works enthusiastically toward improving his game. He plays golf at every opportunity and his skills show this,” Coach Kilborn said. “Tyler takes advice very well and seeks it out from those willing to give it. When asked by his teammates for help, he will give it. He is a respected leader of this team and has proven himself very reliable and dependable.”

Coach Kilborn added that Tyler has been an “efficient and conscientious part-time employee of Bridgton Highlands Country Club for this past summer.”

In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Tyler is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed T-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.
