Player of the Week: RJ Legere

By Wayne E. Rivet
Staff Writer

Freshman RJ Legere is making a good first impression as a member of the Lake Region varsity Nordic ski team.

“We are excited to have RJ on our varsity team this season. RJ is relatively new to Nordic skiing. He is the type of athlete every coach would want on their team. He’s friendly, determined and eager to learn more about the sport to make himself, as well as the team, better,” LR Coach Gloria Verrill said. “He encourages his teammates and always has a positive attitude. He is enthusiastic about the sport and works hard to improve his technique. RJ has tremendous potential and will go far in this sport of Nordic skiing.”

In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, RJ is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber, and a $25 gift certificate to Salon at 616 in Casco.
