Player of the Week: Mike Brooks

By Wayne E. Rivet
Staff Writer

Mike Brooks just likes to ski. Whether he places high or low in the final standings, “Brooksie” just enjoys his time on the slopes.

“Over the past two years, Brooksie has shown great sportsmanship, in addition, he always shows up to practice and races with a positive attitude,” Lake Region varsity alpine ski coaches Jaimie Fontaine and Charlie O’Brien said. “It is a pleasure to have Brooksie on the team.”

In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Mike is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.
