Player of the Week: Mikayla Fortin

Mikayla Fortin

Mikayla Fortin

As a senior, Mikayla Fortin is one of the captains this season of the Lake Region varsity cheerleading squad, and she sets the example for the team both in and out of practice.

“I can count on her to be at practice with a positive attitude. She is a silent leader, not necessarily the loudest on the team, but someone the other cheerleaders look up to and can turn to if they need help,” LR coach Samantha Scarf said. “She works hard and pushes through to be there for her team. “

In recognition of her strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Mikayla is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.
