Kasey Wentworth

When it came time for Coach Kaitlyn Hall to nominate a Laker cheerleader for “Player of the Week,” she selected Kasey Wentworth not only because she is extremely talented, but because she is always leading the team by example.

“Kasey is a co-captain and has yet to disappoint me. She excels in all areas of cheerleading and she treats all of the girls equally and with respect,” Coach Hall said. “Lake Region is lucky to have students like Kasey representing their school. I look forward to the rest of the 2014-2015 cheerleading season with Kasey.”

In recognition of her strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Kasey is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed T-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.

2. Who is your biggest fan? My parents are my biggest fans because they always try to make it to every game and competition to cheer me on.
3. I know I have had a good sports day when…All of my stunts hit and I don’t mess up the routine.
4. What is your favorite sport? Cheering at games and competitions because we get to show everyone what we have been working so hard on.
5. If I could change one thing about myself as an athlete, I would change…I would be a better tumbler because it would be better for the team.
6. What qualities make for a good teammate? To be a good teammate, you can never give up.
7. What do you believe you bring to your team? I always bring a good attitude to practice and no matter what happens, I never give up.
