Player of the week: Julia Carlson

Her name hasn’t appeared in the Top 10, but Julia Carlson may be one of the hardest working members of the Lake Region cross-country team.

“Julia is one of the hardest workers on the team — someone who never complains although she has been injured at times,” Lake Region Coach Dan Dors said. “She is a very dedicated person when it comes to cross-country, and a strong example for her teammates. She not only strives for individual improvement, but through this, she helps her teammates to improve.”

A top student and a “very reliable person,” Julia is very coachable and a “pleasure to have on the team,” Coach Dors said.

In recognition of her strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Julia is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.”

Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed T-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.
