Player of the Week: Catherine Christiansen

Catherine Christiansen

Catherine Christiansen is setting up the Lake Region volleyball team for its best season in the young program’s history.

While the Lakers had one a few games in its short existence, this fall was the first time the program won a match. To date, the Lakers have won three matches and are vying for a playoff spot.

Christiansen, a captain, has figured greatly in the team’s success, according to Coach Ryan Shible. In a win over Wells, Christiansen served up six aces and recorded four kills.

“Catherine has been making consistent, ‘spot on’ sets for our hitters,” Coach Shible said.

In recognition of her strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Catherine is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed T-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.
