Phillip L. Wiggin

CASCO — Philip Lee Wiggin, 80, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011.

He was born in Claremont, N.H. on Feb. 13, 1931, the son of Eleanor Ryan Wiggin and Ronald Lee Wiggin. He grew up in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook schools. He attended Boston University and the University of Maine in Orono, and served in the U.S. Army. He then joined his father in operating the Wiggin Press Printing Company, which Phil eventually took over solely and then retired from.

Phil married Eleanor Barone and together they had two children. Phil was a beautiful piano player and was always asked to play at parties and weddings to which he would oblige. He could play all types of music, but had a particular fondness for jazz. He loved living on Sebago Lake and especially enjoyed his time hosting his friends on his boat. Phil will be remembered for his love of his golden retrievers, his sarcastic wit and for his hearty laugh.

Phil was predeceased by his parents; his sister Margaret; and his son John.

He is survived by his daughter Susan Hughes of Scarborough; and four grandchildren.

There will be no visiting hours. A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011 at North Conway (N.H.) Cemetery.
