Peter Sepich

HARRISON — Proud uncle and friend to all, Peter A. “Pete” Sepich, 71, died suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at his home in Harrison. Pete was born on Jan. 12, 1945, in Gloucester to Anthony P. Sepich Sr. and Anna (Holgerson) Sepich, and raised in Pigeon Cove Mass.

He graduated from Rockport High School in 1963, where he was a star basketball player and athlete. He enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, Pete returned to Pigeon Cove and began his career as an electrician. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 103. Pete worked on the Deer Island project and the “Big Dig” in Boston. In 1985, Peter bought a house in Harrison and began spending weekends there, traveling from Pigeon Cove to work on his house. His home was a labor of love. Over the years, he fixed and renovated it, adding a big garage/workshop. He loved spending time in the yard splitting wood and maintaining his property.

In recent years, Pete adopted a sweet Labrador whom he named “Lucy.” Lucy went everywhere with Pete, always by his side. When Lucy passed away in July, Pete was left with a big hole in his heart.

Pete loved to travel, spending time in Alaska as well as Colorado, where he worked on the Denver Airport project. He was an avid skier. When Pete retired, he moved to Harrison full-time, where he joined the Crooked River Masonic Lodge #152 F.&A.M. He dove head first into the Harrison community. What Pete lacked in a family of his own, he made up for in a wealth of friends. Everybody in the greater Harrison area knew Pete.

Pete loved his family, especially his brother Paul, who passed before him in June 2014. He was extremely proud of his niece and nephew, Susan and Jonathan. Pete always made time to travel to Jon’s football games or Susan’s plays. He also adored his great-nephews and niece, Matt, Meghan and Ben. He is survived by his niece and nephew Susan Choquette and Jonathan Sepich and their spouses Michael Choquette and Colleen Kells Sepichhis sister-in-law Mary Sepich his grand-nephews Matthew Sepich and Benjamin Choquetteand his grand-niece Meghan Sepich and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Harvest Hills Animals Shelter, 1389 Bridgton Road, Fryeburg, ME 04037, or to Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME 04240.
