Paul L. Charette, 71

SEBAGO — Paul Leo Charette, 71, of Sebago, passed away on Wednesday, May 28 2014.

Paul was born to Leo and Mabel Charette on Jan. 11, 1943, in Westbrook. Paul was a caring soul with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, and spending time on his boat. Paul had a tender heart for children and along with his wife, Pamela, was involved in Therapeutic Foster Care for over 20 years, opening their home to more than 50 kids.

Paul was predeceased by his parents; his brother Conrad Charette; and son Michael Charette.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Charette; sons Robert Charette and Isaiah Perez of Sebago, Paul Charette Jr. of Portland, and Walter Ackerman of Massachusetts; daughter Christine Charette of Parsonsfield; stepdaughters Lisa Townsend of Buxton and Kimberly Roubo of California; and brothers, Russell Charette of Indiana and Gerard Charette of Florida.

Paul liked to joke that his body was just his “earth suit.” Paul has left his “earth suit” behind and gone on to a better place. He will be missed.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at the Sebago Church of the Nazarene (Route 114), on Saturday, June 7, at 2 p.m., with refreshments to follow. Interment will be held the following week at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland.
