RAYMOND — Patrick Marney Lawler Sr., 89, passed on while surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 14, 2015.

Patrick was born on March 25, 1926, the son of James E. Lawler and Eva May Marney of Benedicta. He grew up on Lawler Hill and attended schools in Sherman.

Pat was a WWII United States Navy Veteran. He proudly served his country on the USS Intrepid and served in battles including Wake, Marshall, Peleliu, Formosa and Philippine Islands. He was also in the battle of Okinawa.

He married Joan B. Brown on Dec. 15, 1956, and worked in sales for many years, founding Lawler Agency with his wife and brother Maurice “Mo” Lawler. In 1968, he formed Lawler Associates and his business flourished as he had found his calling, retiring in 1992.

Pat and Joan extensively traveled and wintered in Mesa, Ariz., for the past 24 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman and created hunting and fishing traditions that will never end. Pat’s last hunting trip was the fall of 2014 with his best friend, Wayne Anderson of Gorham. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Patrick.

Pat is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years; a son Daniel Lawler of Raymond; a daughter Patrice Ricciardi of Bel Air, Md.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Rosemary Robinson of Bangor, and Sally Brannen of North Carolina.

Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. There will be a private burial with full military honors at Raymond Village Cemetery, Mill Street, Raymond, on June 21, 2015, followed by a celebration of his life at the home of Daniel and Susan Lawler from 1 to 3 p.m. For online condolences, please visit www.dolbyfuneralchapels.com
