GRAY — Patricia Henderson Hosmer Scott, of Venice, Fla. and Gray, passed away on Dec. 12, 2010.
She was born on March 16, 1926, in South Portland, to Henry Henderson and Alice Sawyer Henderson. She graduated from South Portland High School in 1943 then attended Northeastern Business School in Portland.
Patricia married Klinton Hosmer in November 1948, and was married for 28 before his death in 1977. She then married Willard Scott in September 1978, and they spent 32 years together.
She worked for Motors Insurance Corporation in Portland and also worked as school secretary for Maine Youth Center for 13 years, until retiring in 1983.
In retirement, she spent her winters in Venice, Fla., and summers at Little Sebago Lake in Gray. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Venice, Fla.; volunteered in the church office for many years.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Willard Scott of Venice, Fla.; daughter, Susan Hosmer Worthing of Windham; son, Richard Hosmer of Bangor; stepsons, Stephen Scott of Boston, Mass. and Dana Scott of Matthews, N.C.; five grandchildren including Nathan Worthing of Raymond; four great-grandchildren; and several very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brother, Robert Henderson, and sister, Eleanor Henderson Jones.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at the North Windham Union Church, Windham. Ewing Funeral Home of Venice, Fla. is handling arrangements.
